Weekend Fun - Colors & Cinnamon...Huh?!

This past weekend my orders consisted of beautiful bright buttercream frostings, cinnamon, and of course the 'Simply Stawberries' (strawberry)
and 'Love on Top' (red velvet), but I opted to only photograph the C's - cinnamon and colorful.

Naked, but just as good without the frosting!

Cinnamon, butter and brown sugar mixture is swirled
all throughout these cupcakes...Yum!!!

The cupcakes below were requested by a client for their 20th wedding anniversary celebration they were having.  One of the nicest couples I've had the pleasure of meeting in my entire life.  The exchange was very brief, but they definitely made a lasting empression.

Don't you just love the color combination of pink and orange?  I know I do and the fact that orange is my favorite color, probably has plenty to do with it. A customer requested these cupcakes (and red velvet) for her daughter's graduation party and informed me they were reluctant to share...too funny!

Fell in absolute love with the cupcake liners...those colors!

Birthday Party

Pink & Purple Swirl

Pink and purple along with Olivia the Pig was the theme for these cupcakes. Miss Makayla turned six, and what better way to celebrate than with some good ole vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting--why, pink & purple of course!!

Blue Zebra Print

Making these cupcakes was tedious and slightly time consuming, but I looove these type of projects, so no complaints from me.  One my best friends' daughter turned 10 this past Sunday and one of the requests she had for her spa (main & pedi) party was for her aunt Lamorea to make her some electric blue zebra print cupcakes!

The gift bags that were put out for the party (I did not supply) complimented the cupcakes and cupcake stand just perfect!

Fondant is no longer the enemy :-)

'Tis The Season!

(Singing) "It's Christ-maaas, all over the world"...the New Edition version (my era, sorry! :-).  What better way to continue the 'eat sweets for the holidays' (in moderation that is) tradition than to savor a vanilla cupcake with peppermint frosting topped with crushed peppermint candy.  Doesn't that red swirl just scream Candy Cane?!  Yup, it's the Holiday Season alright!

Holiday Tree Lighting Event

This past weekend I had a large order for a Christmas tree lighting event.  The three cupcake flavors I made were vanilla w/peppermint buttercream frosting, red velvet (RV) and devil's food chocolate (DFC) w/cream cheese frosting and before I go any further I have a disclaimer: Vanilla cupakes are not the easiest cupcake to make contrary to the thought that they are (in fact hard-as-heck in terms of getting the perfect fluffly & light cupcake).  I feel like my RV & DFC I have down packed, but those vanilla's can be a bear.  WELL! I think I've found what works and garners the best results.  This time I switched up my mixing methods (did away with the creaming method for this flavor) and I was sa-tis-fied!!  Yay to me for conquering such a feat..lol  So moving on, each cupcake was placed in an individual cupcake box which was wrapped in a gold or crimson bow.  Oh yeah, I labeled each box with a Christmas tag indicating the flavor of the cupcake.  I love these type of projects!

Cotton Candy Mania!

Thanks again to my invent-a-flavor game, a friend of mine suggested I try cotton candy cupcakes!  Not that it hasn't been done before (you'll be hard-pressed to find a cupcake flavor that has yet to be discovered, BUT, if you do, let me know and I'll try it), it's just that I had never tried it.  The end result was what you would expect...Cotton Candy Goodness (if you're a cotton candy fan)!  The cupcake and frosting are both filled with cotton candy, so you won't miss that sugary taste!

Bridal Shower

Just as sure as I want the taste to be great, I want the presentation to be equally as great!
My attempt at laying out the cupcakes in the shape of a ring...I think I succeeded with the yellow diamond!I made these cupcakes for a bridal shower. The theme was "Pink Passion" and the customer wanted cupcakes in the shape of a ring (which I managed with quick thinking at the last minute...whew!) along with brightly colored frosting to reflect the bride-to-be's profession (MAC Make-up Artist). The cupcake flavors are red velvet w/cream cheese frosting, carrot cake w/cream cheese frosting, yellow cake w/buttercream frosting. The event was a success; everyone was pleased with the presentation and more important the taste was amaaazing!
